It’s a beautiful Tuesday afternoon, I’ve just left work and I’m on my way home. My phone starts to ring in my truck and I see on my navigation screen it’s a 801 number, first instinct is “oh its one of those telemarketers again, but something told me otherwise so I decided to grab my phone and look at where it was calling from.
That was when I started to panic, it said SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH – all I could think of at that very moment was oh my gosh could it be Stampin Up calling me, oh my gosh it’s happening. Then I quickly answered the phone, to a wonderful sweet voice saying hello and letting me know, they were calling from Stampin Up. I started to scream, and right at that moment
Gwen asked me “are you driving?”
me “yes”
Gwen “are you safe”
me “yes I am on Bluetooth”
so they begin to tell me they are calling from the artisan design team board, this is when I start to get super excited {ready to pee my pants} OMG it's happening.
gwen asked “are you still safe”
me “yes”
I was sweating bullets, and getting emotional and began to cry and told them how long I had been waiting to get this call. I explained that I had been working so hard this past year to earn this award as it meant the world to me to receive it. They explained to me how much they loved my blog and my work and that my hard work really showed, this is when I started to cry even more, they said my reaction is exactly what they were hoping for.
Gwen asks “are you still safe”
me “yes I am”
and I was, but of course crying while driving is not the best mix but I managed to keep it together. They went onto explaining how the team would work for this coming year and told me all about the goodies I would receive…eeeek that is one of the most exciting parts about getting this award THE GOODIES, I mean honestly who doesn’t want a box of crafting supplies on their door step each month with nothing but AWESOMENESS and all for FREE.
Although I will be totally honest, the most TOP exciting and exhilarating and breath taking experience this is to me, is the HONOR to be chosen to have this opportunity. I was thrilled and on the moon with excitement, and I explained to the ladies that I couldn’t be any happier to receive this recognition. It is such an honor to receive this, and I know that if it weren’t for my team, my friends and all the support from my family I wouldn’t be here. They are the ones who kept me motivated and kept me going, with their kind and sweet words of inspiration and encouragement for all of my projects I shared, it truly makes me feel so blessed to have these people in my life. As I sit here writing this and tears are streaming down my face I want to thank all my friends, my fans for all that you do for me. I can’t wait to share my artisan design projects with you over this next year, and only hope I can inspire others to be just as creative.
Here are a few highlights of this past weekend, and the lovely little goodies I received for being apart of this amazing team of ladies!
So the next year came along and at this point they decided to change the format of the application and were looking for people with active blogs, to send them their blog link, well this was a bit of a challenge for me cause I had only just started blogging at this point. So my blog was not exactly perfect, it had some kinks and it was not where I wanted it to be for layout and design. Plus of course one of the biggest faults I had at that point was photo quality, so I still applied but already knew that I wasn’t going to earn it that year.
I went to convention that year and 1 of my great friends Sarah Sagert won, which I knew she would, as she is amazing in every way, plus it wasn’t her first time earning it. So I got home from convention and made a goal for myself, I said this year I am going to work my butt off and I am going to make my blog posts outstanding and blog regularly and commit to it every week, so that’s exactly what I did, and over that year I improved a little more each month, with new photo props, better quality photos with improved equipment. I’m telling you, it sure taught me a lot because now a year and a bit later I am sitting here telling you all about my phone call, that I finally won. Dedication and commitment will pay off, as long as you work hard and stick to it =) I’m so thrilled to be here and on this wonderful team of ladies.
Thanks so much for reading my story, I’m sorry it was a little long, come back soon for the first Artisan Blog hop of the year I can't wait to start sharing my projects with you all.
Have a crafty day!
